Guess I don't need to go to Indy after-all!

Well, when Sir Bart is not trying to take over township government he is busy buying park land. The "Natural Resource Areas" are kind of interesting in that they were developed by and border housing developments. I guess if you don't want to be responsible for maintenance you just dedicate your community space to the parks department.

What's the penalty for carrying in a city park?
We need a full preemption law in this state!

I guess we won't be able to take our guns to Eagle Creek Pistol Range anymore. Seems as though to do so would violate this ordinance.

There's an ordinance? Gee, I'm certainly aware of any such restriction, officer.

Well, I can say thanks to this ordinance, I have never seen a single firearm in any Indy Park.
If caught with a firearm, even with valid LTC, a Park Ranger could confiscate your firearm and issue a summons to court. I believe the penatly is up to $1500 fine, judge may try to dispose of the firearm.
Not speaking for every cop, but cops, especially former IPD guys would probably look the other way especially if you have a LTC. Or may tell you to leave the park with it.
However, you may run across one that would ask for a ranger and they would probably ding you.

I guess I'm wondering WHY anybody would wanna go to an Indy park...
Since you can legally pack more than a picnic basket at a State park.

It's not just parks but golf courses and other activities. I know the Forest Creek housing addition promoted it's nature trail, also off limits.

Because no one is EVER assualted, mugged, and/or robbed in city parks or greenways, right?
Right.
To be honest, if I knew I could get away with it, I probably would. If I didn't figure I could get away with it...I probably wouldn't.
i.e. if I'm going for a walk, or to take some photographs... wholly different scenario than meeting friends for some ultimate frisbee or football or something like that.

With the large number of Indy Parks properties, and the small number of Park Rangers, odds are you'll never be caught by a Ranger.
It's the soccer mom that accidentally sees your pistola and screams bloody murder (if such a thing really ever happens) that'll get your tit in the wringer.
My own personal opinion is (as we all love to say), concealed means concealed.
Not to 'diss the Rangers, but the last I knew, there were several LMF's and LAC's on that small department who would rather stay in their car than do anything proactive.
Been a long time since I was at a Parks staff meeting, but I recall learning that SUR-13 members liked to hang out at Eagle Creek and a couple other parks.

It shall be unlawful for any person, unless authorized by resolution of the board of parks and recreation,
I am sure ECPR has been authorized.

Can IPDBrad authorize us to carry in Indy Parks?

The Rangers are badly understaffed, almost crippled. They just recently have re-assigned their limited resources to (a) checking parks that have recreation centers, since much of their routine problems emanate from those, (b) boat patrol on Eagle Creek Park and other city waterways, and (c) bicycle patrol at festivals, Eagle Creek Park and some of the frequently used Greenway trails. You can expect to see them a lot on the Nairobi Trail....sorry, I meant the Monon Trail. And they'll be bleeding off some of their available manpower for vice details at various twink hot-spots. Bart won't let them hire more officers.
Small parks are gonna be seeing a lot fewer routine checks by Rangers. If I was gonna pack a firearm, I'd keep it in deep concealment, and never tell anyone I had it. If I saw a Ranger, I'd give him my best libtard Broad Ripple smile, say " So glad to see you out here...!", wave, and go on. And stay off the Nairobi...especially after dusk.

Seems to me like it would be a WHOLE lot easier just to avoid these areas. If Uncle Bart doesn't want me AND my gun, screw him, I don't want his parks.

Military park, and War Memorial plaza are under a separate state commission also.
