Charging us less?

Any of you with Comcast?

They called last night and said they would upgrade us to new digital (we have been with them since they were Road Runner, then Media One)they have never upgraded us other than to give us a another modem.

We have high speed internet, phone and cable through them at $250 a month right now, they said they will come in and install new equipment and then charge us $140 a month for a year with service going up $10 after a year...

Have any of you folks that are with them done this?

How come so much cheaper?

Make sure they send you something in writing with the price increase after a year.

I just have the internet part of comcast. I was just saying get it in writing because I have friends that got screwed over with deals like that. They said it would only go up so much after 6 months and it ended up being like 2-3 times the original uppage.

I'm with Brighthouse and have the HD cable package, Digital phone and Roadrunner High Speed - $150 a month!

I will have to check and see if Brighthouse is in WACO, I doubt it, WACO does not do anything intelligently.

If you have high speed internet, then you might as well save yourself some money on phone bills and get a voip phone. Companies like comcast offer it now, but still overcharge for the service. Use a smaller company like Sunrocket:

I pay $17 a month. 2 free phones, caller ID, call waiting, voice mail, unlimited local & long distance. No hidden fees, charges or taxes (government can't tax the internet, at least not yet).

Price has risen to $24 a month, but comcast is charging $42.95.

I am using WOW. I have there HD package with the Tivo box, and another digital reciver and there high speed internet for around $100 a month. There service comapred to Comcast is a lot better. That price is guarenteed for 2 years.

Comcast is the absolute worst cable co. I have ever had the mis-fortune of dealing with. You should set fire to all of their equip. and switch companies asap.

Their cable used to be horrible around here. It would drop for no reason whatsoever. Now that they have upgraded all the lines there has been no problems with my internet service at all. Well except that one time some idiot decided the pole needed to be taken down by his car.
