SC State IDPA match

Just thought I'd take a moment to say a word or two.

Without a doubt, the State match this year (this weekend) was one of the best I have ever been to. The host club was very nice, and the staff was TOP NOTCH!!!

The stages were well designed and laid out extremely well, and were both fun AND challenging.

My hat is off to the Match Director, and all of the SO's that made it run so well.

I hope I have the opportunity to be invited back to work the match next year.

Yep, great match and only my second sanctioned IDPA match. I did not shoot worth a da...n but I had a lot of fun and uncovered a lot of mistakes. I will be back.

I thought it was the best state match that I've been to in SC. Worked with a great crew that allowed me to socialize a bit. plus I got me one of those sparkly plates.

I don't know why but I didn't really think it was that great.

Seems I hear better things from the guys that shot with the SOs (Byerly and Bogey). We had some problems with SOs (range nazis - both from the home club). Out of 12 stages I thought 5 were good but none were great.

IMO, the best were equal to 'average' at stages at Boone or The Cup.

It is a very nice range and I thought they did a great job as far as layout.

It was a great crew.... and a good stage. I just wish I shot it better. I thought I nailed that turner - was pretty surprised to learn I missed it. Oh well...

SR, I thought you shot well. If I had not made too many mental mistakes, I would have placed higher. I only had a total of 3 points down on 6 of the 12 stages. I don't want to talk about the other 6 stages LOL. After analyzing my shooting, I found that accuracy was not the problem. It was mental and lack of competition experience. I wish I could get up to Oxford for the shoots but you know the situation on that. I look forward to seeing you at the Carolina Cup.

Chris,

Just wanted to make sure that you know about the matches at PDHSC on the second Saturday each month. Bogey and I both serve as SOs at that match. They are not as big as the match at Oxford but are well designed and excellent practice. Pehaps those will fit into your schedule better.
