CCW wait time in Prince William County, VA

Just moved to Prince William County. Anyone have any idea on how long the typical CCW permit process takes.

Moderators, can we get a sticky on the proper and safe way to pistol whip someone?

IIRC they run between 30-45 days.

Like their northern neighbors Fairfax and Arlington they aren't too happy about issuing permits.

I believe I got mine in about a month. I didn't have any problems getting mine.

Mine took about a month, nowhere near the 45 day max. Just remember if you live in City of Manassas, you'll also have to drop by the City Police station before going to the Prince Wm County Court House.

OK they are better than their northern neighbors.

I wanted to provide an update. I went to the Clerk of the Court in P.W. County and dropped off my renewal application. They no longer require you to go to the police department first.

The clerk said that they had gotten a number of complaints about that so they no longer require you to go to the police department first. She said, however, that the process now takes longer because that streamlined the process. Don't know whether that is true or not, but if it is then I guess it's one of those times where we gun owners figuratively shot ourselves in the foot.

My renewal took just under three weeks, IIRC.
