is it too late to become a EMT/EMS ...?
I'de like to change my line of work when I go back home (Philippines)... is it too late to become a EMt/EMS? I am a 36 yld.... can anyone tell me what is the posibility? like what are the basic requirements...etc?

Not ot old at all. Contact your local community college. Down here in FL, EMT school is a college semester long, but you will need to take an entrance exam. If no local Community Colleges are around, just ask one of your local EMT's. Good luck.

Actually thats my plan by next year.... I dont know if you knew a school name PSEMT ..... I reallly don't know where to start when the times come.

Never heard of that school. In Florida, at least at our local college you have to take an entrance test that, if my mind serves me correctly, is called FBAT....Florida Basic Abilities Test. Basically it wants to know if you have the cognitive skills to perform the job. This is in addition to a High School Diploma or GED, College application, FBI background/fingerprint fee and program application.

since your in the middle east and are returning home do you know anything about the EMS system in your home land? maybe you could call one of the fire dept.s there and they can actually point you in the right direction.

FYI, we have a guy well past 60 still driving an ambulance at our station... no such thing as "too old" in this profession!

its a very positive.... for my side to know all your input..... I just resign yesterday from my present work... to continue my dream..... at early time. thank you guys.... I will be back home within this week. I will let you know what will happen next.
