Free video editing program?

Anyone know of a simple free video editing program that works with .WMV, and maybe .mpg and .mov files?

I use Pinnacle Studio in my newer computers but it won't handle .WMV files.

The spare older computer that I want the editing program for is using an older Win XP that won't accept Win Movie Maker.

The program doesn't have to do much more than joining and simple editing of .WMV files.

I found those on Google last week.
They are mostly converters, not editors and are severly limited in the free version.
I tried a couple but they weren't much good.

I haven't used any but looks like a couple listed here that might work.
