Still using those George Foreman grills?

Admittedly, beyond hot dogs, not much.

I did slice a zucchini and grill them after dredging them in a mixture of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and black pepper. Nice accompaniment to dinner.

It's probably been well over a year since I've used mine. The only thing I've ever cooked with it were chicken breasts and maybe only about three or four times.

Maybe I'll drag it out and use it. To be honest, until I saw this thread I had forgotten about it.

My wife and I have been through a half dozen or so of them. We use ours EVERY day. We have cooked virtually everything on them.

We use ours a lot for lunch during the summer: hamburgers, hot dogs, zucchini and squash or even eggplant. One day I am going to try grilled cheese in it but I figure it will do fine.

I do pannini on them once in a while. Bacon here and there. Quisadillas sometimes.

We use our big George Foreman most often for Eggplant...
Other stuff too... More photoze later...

In a small cup I'll pour in some extra virgin olive oil along with some salt,
fresh ground pepper, and some garlic powder...

Paula Dean's "House Seasoning"...
It's all that stuff premixed...

1 cup salt
1/4 cup fresh ground black pepper
1/4 cup garlic powder...

I mix it all together and brush it lightly on both sides of the eggplant slices...

Then pop them on the grill till they soften up and get the grillmarks...

Ours still gets used frequently, and Scratchy's up in Flag as well.

I must confess, tho..... I've been lusting for a heavy-duty "grill pan" for weeks.

Almost everday. As we are (temporarily) in an apartment now, with all of the no-BBQ laws to go with it.

I've gotten pretty good with it. This morning was hash browns, bacon and french toast. Quick, easy, and little clean up.

I have done Cuban sandwiches...albeit small ones...on the GF in the past with great success.

I don't eat much bread anymore but I have seen some mini ciabatta rolls at the store. Might try it again.

I have the big round one with the dome top on the deck. I use it all year to cook fish or small things when I don't want to start charcol. I hate the smell of fish in the house the next day.

It takes about 60 seconds after it warms up to do a grilled cheese sammich...perfectly. If you get nuts and want something like a ham and swiss....warm up the ham first, put in on the sammich and then grill it.

I stopped using my George Foreman grill because the finish was coming off of the cooking plates while handwashing.

Does anyone know what the finish is?
