3 Choices Only (Not in Order But Limited To This ONLY)
Choose only 1, it's great to have the 3 of them but funds doesn't permit it.
I'm in a stage of choosing but beginning to be very picky, because here are my plans for my next FA acquisition. This is more like a "If you were in my shoes thing"
1. Superb Home Defense
2. Excellent Reliability (For carry + concealability)
3. Moderate Shooting competition IDPA or IPSC if time permits/if FA qualifies.
4. Slightly Resembling Glock 23 40cal. So that my learning curve won't be too steep or is this impossible to compare?
I'm considering (not in order & all in 40cal.)
HK P2000SK 40cal.
HK USP Compact 40cal.
Sig Sauer P229 40cal.
1911 is at the backburner due to time constraints of getting it enhanced or worked on.
Thank you very much for sharing your insight.

SIG P229
I'm only judging by the way it looks since i don't have first hand experience in any of those pistols you mentioned.

ang hirap naman
ang hirap naman ng tanong. anyway, here is what i can say among your choices, based on my limited experience and knowledge.
HK2000SK: smaller than G23, it has a "2 finger grip", no place for the pinky.
USPc Elite: i don't think there is a usp compact elite. but there is a usp compact tactical, with extended threaded barrel or a usp full size elite. no .40cal in usp elite.
SIG229: "to hell and back" is their motto.
the HK2000SK and SIG229 doesn't have an external safety. the USPc can be configured for this variant also.
you cannot go wrong with any of the three. if only 1, my vote would go to the USP compact. but not the tactical or the elite, just the compact model.
lalo ba gumulo? nadagdagan pa tuloy ang mga choices. hehehe

Everything you pointed out leads you back to G23.
Cmon, you just want to justify your next purchase.

Sir SIG 229 for me, accuracy and reliable good for self defense and you can also use it in IDPA and IPSC thanks.

HK USP Compact for me. Reasons? 1. ideal for carry 2. can compete in IDPA SSP/ESP divisions, 3. can also qualify for IPSC prod division..3-in-1 pistol di ba..
Pwede rin yata sa standard division since it's .40..hehe.

sig- mabigat for carry, but easiest to control bcos of its weight, but for SD you dont need to shoot "ipsc fast" so you dont need that much weight to begin with....glock 22 ka nalang 40 din sya, pwedeng pwede for carry, lalaong pwede for home defense, plus you get a little bit more in the mag and a little longer barrel

My choice will be the Sig 229...
I have one w/ a 9MM Barsto barrel and I love it. You can shoot the 9mm for the range and spend less on ammo. Also, IMHO the 229 is a great platform for the 40 S&W. You could also get a barrel for the 357sig. That makes it three guns in one !!
My two cents..
