I live in northern Douglas Co, just south of Carson City, about 30 miles from Reno. You're right, it's a pretty cool place to live.
BTW, did you ever make it to our range?

I was asking about the Carson range. I live in Douglas Co., but I'm closer to the Carson range than the Douglas range. I'll be out there on Friday. Great place to shoot. Let's hope the weather stays nice.

I just got back from there. The place was PACKED!!! Nice store. Really nice selection of guns. Prices seemed OK, too. They gave me $15 to sign up for a credit card so I bought a spare mag for my Buckmark. Cost me less than $10. It's kinda out of my way, but the next time I'm in the market for a gun I'll sure give them a look.

Reno / Tahoe resident for the last 20 years 
I braved Cabela's a couple of weeks ago, but decided not to buy anything since the checkout lines were way too long. Nice selection though 
My Glock gets it's work out at the Washoe rifle range up on Pyramid Hwy. Great place to shoot
