The TRP is a great 1911, but I love the clean looks of a Springfield GI.
I believe that's the one you sent to Springfield Custom, right?

Yep, thats the one. The only two 1911s I own at the moment. I love the way it looks too, but am not sure about the grips. I use those to remedy the smooth front-strap, but feel like it doesn't mesh aesthetically. It feels great in the hand though.
It's not exactly traditional GI aesthetics anyway though, since it is SS and I had the ejection port lowered and flared. I was thinking about getting a skeletonized hammer. I'm gonna leave the grip safety though, as I really like the GI GS...
1911 disease truly is an addicition. I'm already looking for the next step up. I want an Ed Brown or Wilson Combat next. There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY I could afford one any time soon, but I still sit here coming up with hair brained schemes to get one...

I have recently been re-bitten by the 1911 bug. My latest arrivals are the Ed Brown Special Forces Carry and my Nighthawk GRP. They are pictured with my first Generation, Caspian framed Sig GSR that has been totally reworked by Teddy Jocobson (Actions by T). I will have a Wilson Combat before too long......

I mentioned that in the thread about this gun.
I got a great deal and I wanted one for a buyer's guide that I'll be posting sometime soon.

Nothing extra fancy, here's my Pro CDP. The 1911 bug sucks, I'm currently fighting off the urge to buy another but I don't know how long I can hold out. Damn the bug. Damn it to Hell.

Sig 1911s are OK, but I'd look at something else.
