My Kimber UCII back from 9mths in jail.
Thought i'd be back to carrying it, but now the plunger tube is coming loose.

That Kimber UC looks a bit rusty!
The plunger tube is a fairly easy fix.

Mainly just the inside of the hammer, didnt have anything when I was trying to get it cleaned up from the 9mths away. I was more focused on getting off the markings from the sherriffs office and cleaning the inside well, figured I can clean the inside of the hammer after reassembly. The sights i'll be having replaced soon since the right rear is smashed to the point that it finally broke the tritium vial.

Well, across the parking lot, in their evidence room.
11/23-yesterday.
Spent 4 hrs downtown to get the court order, then another 30 mins or so at the sherriffs office getting it back.

Here is an interesting piece we just acquired:

An excellent shooter, so far; and it bears a close resemblance to the Springfield Armory Custom Operator that we have always lusted after but (at close to $3K per copy) we likely will never be able to afford.
Our 2nd RIA. We think they are excellent for the price.
We trudge on.

Brian:
Ajax grips makes faux ivory w/medlians for the 1911A1. You can get them at gun grip supply (and a number of other vendors also).
We trudge on.

Thanks I will look into those, I can't wait, I try hard to not be a fanboy, but when it comes to the 1911 I had to have a Colt, especially being the 100 year anniversary.

Detonics MTX compact double stack 1911 vs Safari Arms Enforcer (Colt Officer Model size)
The all black Detonics MTX pictured above (updated version of the classic CombatMaster) is the very first production MTX pistol made, serial numbers include my initials. The Safari Arms Enforcer above is, if you squint your eyes, serial numbered 001, its the first of a series of matched sets made with beryllium frames and was made 22 years ago.
Below is the prototype for the Detonics MTX, its one of only a couple made and used at the factory as test guns.
