What's funny is that even way back then he was talking about being done with buying 1911s.

Those grips are fantastic! I've always been a huge fan of well executed Celtic knotwork. Wonder if I could get her to do a set with Thor's hammer instead of a cross?
Sadly, my only 1911 for the foreseeable future is a lowly ACII, don't think it rates a set of Esmeraldas.

While I'm probably the last person to offer any 1911 advice (I've recently had to sell my only one), I have to say that a well crafted set of grips can always be transferred to a better gun in the future. Why let your current firearm limit you, if you intend to make an upgrade in the future?
ETA: BTW, Giggity, those grips are beautiful. They suit that Baer perfectly.

That is very true, but I was trying to talk myself out of it

Here's my new TRS, second one. Sold one a long time ago and missed it. This one's getting 10-8 rear sight and some Larry Davidson grips (the thin ones make the gun point weird for me).

Picked up a lightly used Concept IV.
Stainless frame, blue serrated top slide, short trigger, strong side only safety, all in a cardboard box!
Still Les Baer bank vault tight!

Just scored it off GB couple days ago. Pics will have to do, until I get my hands on it.
