Basic and AIT May-Aug 81. E-5-2. Then off to Airborne School. When I went back to Benning some years later for a school, I drove through the area and the barracks I stayed in for BT was still standing but most of the others had been torn down. Loved waxing those wood floors every night.

Went to Airborne School in 1984, then returned to Benning for two more years to work at Infantry Officer Basic Course(1989-1991). Had my Basic and AIT at good old Fort Polk, though(1976).

Not basic or AIT
Yes, after attending BAC we opened WWII barracks in Harmony Church, Ft. Benning. to start our training as Airborne Rangers. This was in March 1951, during the Korean War. We were the first Airborne Ranger Companies, 1 — 15 numbered Companies, Two letter Companies.
