Installing XS Big Dot on a S&W J-Frame

I just bought a S&W 638. It has an Integral front sight held in with a roll pin.

I want to put a XS Big Dot of the front sight.

From what I can tell the sight comes without a hole drilled in it.

http://www.gunblast.com/XS_BigDot.htm

The above site explains how to install it.

I am a little worried about wollowing out the roll pin hole if I use it as a guide to drill the sight in position.

Has anyone installed this sight and is that how it is done? Use the roll pin hole as a guide? Or should I punch it and take it out and drill it?

Or I was one page said to use glue? I'm a little scepitcal about gluing it in place......does not seem like the way to go.

Thanks
