Fredericksburg Rod and Gun Club
Does anyone know about the Fredericksburg Rod and Gun Club?
http://www.rodngunclub.org/
It looks like you have to know someone there to join. I have been asking around to see if I can find anyone I know who might be able to give me some info and possibly sponsor me. I am mainly interested in using the pistol and rifle ranges. I saw that a couple of people here are members at the Spotsylvania IWL and thought maybe I could get some info about FR&GC as well.

I've been there to help teach some scouts to shoot.
We were there on a weekend and the place was almost deserted.
Nice place. IIRC dues is pretty reasonable.
The have several trap and skeet ranges (4 or 5), a pistol range and a 200 yard rifle range with berms at 50, 100, and 200 yards. They run USPSA/IPSC matches once a month.
I'd be a member if it wasn't over an hours drive away from me.

Thanks, my uncle just gave me a guys name that was on the BOD for the club. He is supposed to show me around there tomorrow or next weedend. There is a one time initiation fee of $300 plus $300 yearly dues, so I am not sure where I am comming up w/ $600 bucks to start? But the place sounds decent, it is close to my house, and there is no where else to shoot rifle around Fredericksburg. I am not sure what I am going to do yet.

The dues is more than I thought it was. I remembered the $300 initiation, but I thought annual dues was less than that.
Still, it's a very nice place to shoot and not very crowded. If it wasn't an hour+ drive for me to get there I'd be a member.

You should check out the Izaak Walton League in Spotsylvania. It's 292 initial and 92 dollars a year. Read the Izaak Walton League thread I started a while back.

I did see the thread on the Spotsylvania Isaac Walton League. I wouldn't mind being a memeber there. Do you know if you can bring guests there as often as you want? I know you can at FR&GC. I went by there today and I looks like a good place. FR&GC has 3 different ponds for fishing as well as the two pistol ranges, rifle range, skeet, trap ranges and club house/lodge. I would probably definatley join IWL if I still lived out by Todds Taver where I grew up. Now I live downtown Fredericksburg so FR&GC is only 5 miles away. I might wait a few months if I decide to Join FR&GC since they prorate the yearly fee, so if i wait untill March I would save a $100. If I can just bite the bullet and come up with the cash I think it will be worth it to be closer to home.

IWLA Alexandria
You might want to check out the Alexandria chapter of Isaac Walton. I do not belong myself, but I do know people that do. I would love to join, but I cannot afford it myself. Anyway, even though it's the "Alexandria" chapter, their grounds are actually in North Stafford on Route 610. Their branch webpage is here. Oh yeah...according to their site initiation fee is $100 and $100 thereafter for dues, $200 initially. Hope this helps.
