Glock for $479 in So Cal?

A few days ago, in the "Fair Price for a Glock 19" thread, Bono Vox said that there was a place in Southern California that sells them for $479. I PM'ed him like 5 days ago, and haven't heard back from him.

Anyone know what So Cal store has them for this price? Thanks!

I would like to know as well.

Most places in SoCal seem to advertise Glocks in the $550s.

I havent seen any glocks at that price as long as I have been getting into handguns since the beining of this year. And I am always looking!! However, I know where there is a used G19 for 450 in 95% condition. Its at a Turners in Redondo Beach. Hope that helps!!!

Discount guns in San Diego has the G19/23 for $519 or so. Also try Ironsights in oceanside, they have some great deals too.

Stay away from CA gun stores because of outrageous costs. CA is pretty much a lost hope.

Find a great FFL dealer and shop around online for the best price. Since you're purchasing the Glock out of state, NO TAX!!! All you have to do is pay for the Glock, shipping and DROS/transfer fees. Total it all up and you'll save a couple of dollars from purchasing in Cali.

I got news for you. Must FFL's will not do a transfer on the same new guns that they sell. It's just bad business and could put them out of business.

I almost did the same thing, but the fees and shipping charges added up to the same cost as buying it from my local dealer. Not only that, but the dealer cannot start the DROS unless they have the serial in hand (or so I'm told).

CA is not a lost cause, but if you want to force them out even more, buy online. Who needs local dealers anyways???

Actually it's illegal for them not to, as part of their FFL license they're required to offer transfers regardless of whether they sell the gun you're transferring.

Never seen nor heard of that. Can you point me in the right direction, because I have been told to my face that they will not do the transfer on new guns from out of state that they also carry in the store.

I am not aware of any legal issues with FFL transfers, but the main 3 stores in the So Cal area that I am aware of charge $125 and $150 to do a transfer if it is a new gun that they normally stock.

Of course, they do this to discourage you to buy elsewhere, and to buy from them.

If you insist on helping to run the last few actual gun dealers out, there are FFLs that do not carry any stock, and therefore will transfer just about anything. In San Diego, Unique Pawn and Royal Loan are two I can think of immediately. But if you want a new Glock, just go to a dealer and buy it. You'll save a lot of time and aggravation, and it isn't really going to cost you any more, especially after the FFL charges you the use tax on your Internet transfer gun.

And FFLs are required to do face-to-face PPTs, but are not required to do Internet transfers. But even then, you take the last spot in line. The last time I went through that, it took about 2 hours to complete the transaction, because every time someone else even wanted to look, we got to sit and cool our heels until they were done. I don't blame the dealer... i blame the state and their effed-up laws and regulations. Capping what dealers can charge for FTF transfers while constantly increasing the burden on them pretty much mandates that those transfers become unpopular. I'm sure that's part of what Sacramento wants.

Yes, please share with us as I don't like paying for $650 out the door for a new Glock.

I would assume that most of us here are not peace officers so that info isn't much good.

I just assumed that there might be a few, not the majority of course! Maybe the info isn't helpful to you but maybe some others can benefit from it. Especially since there is a COP forum on Glocktalk!
