I posted a new glocktalk thread
There were no replies
So I went to bed
I closed my eyes and had a dream
All I saw were answered posts
On the wings of angelic hosts
Then I started to scream
I awoke with a fright
To a bump in the night
I grabbed my glock
Checked the chamber
I was ready to rock
To face the unknown danger
I stumbled out the door
Saw nothing and continued fore
Step by step I went
Until I heard a noise that
Filled me with dread
I was first to answer

Like other GlockTalk users, I have pondered the significance of the “X” word post threads, a phenomenon started by ChuteTheMall. I did not get in on the game early on, so by the time I read through the two and three word posts, they were long and cumbersome and had deteriorated beyond any hope for recovery. I was intrigued by the later twelve word post and posted haiku, hoping to juggle both syllable and word counting, with mixed success. I resisted the fifty word post trying not to encourage ChuteTheMall, but I find I cannot fight any longer. I surrender.

To aid the other glocktalkers we could divide the 100 word post into smaller “bite-size” pieces, for example 50 two word posts, 33 1/3 three word posts, 25 4 word posts or 10 ten word posts. One coherent post isn’t necessary as exemplified by my other postings. Start with baby steps.

There was a Great Dog Convention.

But, before they could enter,
or even take a look,
they had to take their a**hole off,
and hang it on a hook.

But before they even got seated,
(every mother, pup, and sire),
An old dog hollered from the back,
"Run for your life. It's a FIRE!"

The crowd of dogs began to panic,
and nobody stopped to look.
They grabbed the very nearest a**hole,
off the very nearest hook.

And this is why, even today,
a dog will drop a bone,
to sniff another dog's a**hole,
to see if it's his own.
