Our best and brightest people parang puppets on a string ng powers that be
No wonder nag mass resignation dati mga cabinet members

But on a positive note, sabihin na natin nagpapasikat ang next batch of presidentiables , Villar , Lacson , Chiz , Roxas
But I like them all including Fernando and Gordon on the govt side

It's like the price of oil. Whenever the price of oil goes down, a pipeline explodes, a refinery catches fire, oil workers in Nigeria get kidnapped.

Whenever it's quiet in government, somebody comes up with an expose, some clowns try to take over the government, or aspiring presidential candidates grandstand to get noticed.

Lumang tugtugin.

Why do I get the feeling that after all this brouhaha, Lozada will be the one on the losing end (jailed? killed?) and all those big name personalities will quietly go on to the next big government project?

How can you encourage people to tell on corruption kung ganyan? Granted, many people like Lozada are not saints either, but to be pilloried by Senators and Malacanang officials as if what you did was more vile than what you're trying to expose, parang mali. Maling mali!

And who are those Senators anyway? When Enrile said that his questions were aimed to assess Lozada's morality, I could only shake my head. If I were Lozada I would be tempted to say, "Sir, you would be the last person on earth to talk to me about morality!!"

I agree with Clusterbomb.

Political Science was my degree;
Politics is my cup of tea;
And Politicians-are my PWEH!

I'm really worried, neck-frightful and nervous should there be Constitutional succession. By then, you will see Pogi more in the streets than in ranges and matches. Peruse the comment of Makati Business Club...that they will "help" or "aid" the incoming leader should there be succession. Not their exact words but I put it as what they meant for they DID NOT SAY..."COOPERATE"! Check the difference between the words.

"HELP"..."AID"...why? Do they project ineptitude? A NO-BRAINER? A head SOOOOOO vulnerabe to "MANIPULATIONS" "dahil sa kakulangan sa ..."?

I would rather opt for a 90-Day Caretaker Govt. to meantime run daily affairs and design rules and procedures for the calling of a SNAP ELECTION. No extension. Self limiting. People will decide and are the ones to monitor their votes. No more Garci, Bidol nor Abalos. Let's start anew...this time with DIGNITY.

My plea:
intention is not all there is. it is NOT enough. it MUST be coupled with QUALIFICATION(s)...Amen!

Even a street "kaminero" has good intentions for his country. But is he qualified?
YES, he can hire the best minds should he land into govt. office. But IS HE EQUIPPED WITH THE MIND THAT WILL DETERMINE WHICH OF HIS ADVISERS' ADVICES ARE IMPLEMENTABLY RIGHTFUL, LEGAL, MORAL, SOCIAL etc.

Maenwhile, I'm left to my dream of a better-dignified country and its race. Just hope to witness it before I succumb to ashes.

Maybe a new lease on life is the main reason of him telling it all.

When a man smells death around him, the instinct is to pray for your soul and ask for God's forgiveness (repentance).

Maybe he remembered the scence where 2 criminals where hanging with Jesus on the cross and one of the criminals who hung there asked for forgiveness, and said: "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom."

It is not a joke to be in the situation where he is now. Once the senate is done with him, he's on his own. Im sure he feels that his time will come real soon... and I bet, he's all prepared to face the God almighty when that time comes

just my opinion

Lozada is guilty of nepotism and several instances of fraud.

He is not any more credible than the persons he is accusing.

They are all lying.

In the Loop
ByJose G. caedo
Bird song from the Pasig

Little brown Maya birds say that there is a cabinet reorganization looming in the Big house along the Pasig . tito Ed and Kuya Ronnie are having a hard time with damage control, with either being considered to move out to be residents of Washington D.C. soon. Tito ronnie was unhappy two months ago, and actually said out loud that if that was to happen, he might as wel flip the pancake and switch sides. The pressure for some to fall on their swords for Momma is on.

Another little tune our songbirds are singing is that the man who refuses to sspeak before the Senate again , and declined to " tell all" claiming the privilege, did so out of love. " Where is the love" ( actually , "lovers" is more accurate), is the title of the song. The orientation and preference of the man , and the disappearance of two young men from his life ( one a Malacanang waiter) are supposedly keeping him from singing his tune. " Yellow bird"? Jambi knew what she was asking from Jun during the Senate hearing; when she asked him if he knew who the two men were.

As for the new national hero, he was reportedly a former classmate and a protégé of Gen. Victor Corpuz, and was long protected by the ISAFP. He was also afraid of being liquidated several years ago, after his brother was " salvaged". He askd Corpuz for protection and he was taken under Corpuz’ wing, and hired into the NRDC. Yes, we La Salle boys like to take care of each other. By the way Jjun, just how much is " permissible" corruption"

Makati Business Club condemning GMA? Well, better make sure your tax records and returns are super clean; the BIR might audit you. It is hard to call the kettle black, if you are a darkened pot. In pare delicto, as it were.

It will be difficult to get by if your donation pool and revenue streams dry up. Let us look at how much Church income drops, and specific religius comunities suffer. The thing of it is, people who are hurting from CARP are not bound to feel sorry for a church whose massive estates and landholdings are exempt from land reform. Let us see how the Church feels once it is taxed, and its lands given to the people. Which is what it wants private landowners to do. Then folks, we will all be in the same boat. Fair is fair, let’s all share equally, shall we?

Coup, coup, coup….will it never end? The people are tired; the police are tired, the soldiers are tired, we are tired of the same old faces and demonstrations. Will the rumor mongers never learn? You are using the same old worn, and predictable tactics for regime change. Your coup attempt has several counter-coup plans in place, which can be operationalized within an hour’s alert. And here’s a typical anti-coup tactic:

Government person: " Hi, citizen, where are you going?"
Citizen: " To the anti- GMA rally; I was paid P300 to attend it"
Government man: " Well, here’s P500, just go home and watch it on television".

Yup, in a country where everything is for sale, ( according to Sunshine Joe d.V., ) what else can yu expect? It is just a shame when we have to find heroes who are just as corrupt as the people they want to replace. Can’t we find real honest heroes without blemishes, or feet of clay? The ancient Romans said it best: " He who comes to Court must come with clean hands".

Politicians come and go, but the Filipino people are indommitable. The Philippine Bamboo will bend during the storm, but will survive the winds. All this political drama will soon blow over .

Tsk tsk,a country run like hell by Filipinos. Does it ring a bell?

IMHO we are still better than being run by foreigners, because it is within us it depends solely on our hands.

The only question is when we'll we realize to run our country like it's suppose to be, when we'll our politicians grow a conscience?

I certainly agree that Lozada is no saint, he acknowledges dirty 'deal' he did when he was grilled by Sen. 'Brenda' Defensor Santiago.

Lozada knows his days are numbered and him telling the truth might be the only clearance he'll present to Saint Peter to pass through the 'Pearly Gate'.
While still alive, Lozada has to tell the truth as he knows that Saint Peter wont allow him to go back to life just to tell the truth.

My brothers, let me share with you a parable, "The Parable of The Rich Man & beggar Lazarus" (In my wildest imagination, I imagine First Gentlemen Arroyo as the Rich Man, and Lozada as the beggar )

Luke 16:19-31 "Now there was a certain rich man, and he was clothed in purple and fine linen, living in luxury every day. A certain beggar, named Lazarus, was laid at his gate, full of sores, and desiring to be fed with the crumbs that fell from the rich man’s table. Yes, even the dogs came and licked his sores. It happened that the beggar died, and that he was carried away by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died, and was buried. In Hades, he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far off, and Lazarus at his bosom.

He cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue! For I am in anguish in this flame.’

"But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that you, in your lifetime, received your good things, and Lazarus, in like manner, bad things. But now here he is comforted and you are in anguish. Besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, that those who want to pass from here to you are not able, and that none may cross over from there to us.’

He said, ‘I ask you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father’s house; for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, so they won’t also come into this place of torment.’

"But Abraham said to him, ‘They have Moses and the prophets. Let them listen to them.’

"He said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’

"He said to him, ‘If they don’t listen to Moses and the prophets,
neither will they be persuaded if one rises from the dead.

Peace be with you brothers. May the good Lord have mercy on the Philippines!
