Commandery saber refinishing

I recently received my commandery saber, and oh my gosh is it in sorry state. I need to get it refinished, but want to keep the historical past owners names carved on the blade. Can any of you brothers recommend a good place to refurbish a sword and scabbard? I will get pics up later today. Whats your opinions on getting it done at one of our friendly gun refinishers. Chrome and black chrome seem like a good idea to me, i just do not know who to get the enameling done. Thanks, Don

Horrid mischief would ensue were one half the world deprived of the use of them.
