It's a somewhat fluid situation kasi, allowing us a Buy/Sell thread here on BoG.
On the one hand, banner ads are the main source of income for GT, keeping
the servers running, so free ad space is always a concern. So far, none of the
recent Buy/Sell posts here have been truly commercial (as in, made by a store or
commercial outfit, with a regular turnover of merch). Person-to-person sales and inquiries
are what
GT's Want Ad forums are for, and they're free.
Pinagbigyan tayo (AFAIK) for 1 single, current Buy&Sell thread because of our own
geographic situation vs. US-based GT'ers, and also dahil baka malunod lang ang Pinoy
Buy/Sell posts sa dami ng US posts d'un.
Special tayo, haha ...so far. All other GT'ers have to use the Wan Ads forums for
this sort of stuff. If our use of this concession exceeds a certain psychological
or physical threshold, in terms of bandwidth (or more to the point, in terms of number
of acive Buy/Sell threads), two things may happen:
1. non-Philippne GT'ers are going to rightfully complain about un-equal treatment.
2. Eric may decide there's enough Philippine commerce transacted in GT to allow
restricting it, in toto and just like similar posts by non-BoG GT'ers, to the Want Ads forums,
kasi it's big enough not to get drowned out.
I don't know when Eric will provide a ruling, so abangaaaaan...
