So...which watch is NEXT on your TO-BUY list?

Me? As most of you know--assuming I didni't get ripped off on Ebay--'ve got these two coming:

It's About Time

It's About Time

And after that, I haven't quite decided what to get. I was thinking of rewarding myself for being such a fantastic teacher (hah!) and getting myself a red watch to celebrate the end of the year and coming of Spring, which means Cherry Blossom Parties (poontang-getting parties) and lots of time in the sun--lots of time to recharge my Eco-Drive!

It's About Time

Or I was thinking that perhaps I'd get myself a nice dress watch, despite my just getting that Bulova Moon Phase. I wanted something Swiss, Automatic and with a butterfly dress bracelet, so...

It's About Time

...but that depends on whether or not I can find it for under $300.

After that, and before I leave the land of the rising sun, I'm still planning to shell out the money and get myself that Orient World-Timer GMT Sapphire that everyone says is too busy but I just MUST have before I leave:

It's About Time

Anyone else got some watches on their to-buy list?

I wouldnt buy a watch on Ebay. Too damn scary to be certain of authenticity.

But my next watch I am looking at is a Rolex Submariner. Though the price tag and our current economy is not looking like it will happen this year.

I'm in the process of the Time Zone Watch School. Damn living room carpet swallowed a jewel though, so it's been put on a near permanent break until I can find time to get back to it.

Otherwise-

I know I know... I like how funky it is.

Swatch Scampi-Freschi

It's big, weird and orange. Can't get a pic to stay posted... Google image if you're interested.

Well, it's very...unique.

Seriously, though, whatever floats your boat. A lot of folks think that Bulova I'm buying is butt ugly, has a band that looks like scales (it really does) and the moon phase makes it look like Batman's dress watch.

Matter of fact, I'm headed downtown to buy another watch case in a few minutes. My current model is full, and two more watches on the way!

Go for the Tissot! I own this one:

It's About Time

Not that I don't love my Japanese watches, but the Tissot just has a different feel to it. Must be a Swiss thing.

I was looking at a Bulova the other day at JC Penney but their counter is always short-staffed and rather rude. I'll just get the model # and order it somewhere else.

It's time for me to start saving up, I can't believe that I'm contemplating spending this much on a watch. It's the one that I've wanted since I was a kid.

OOoOOHHH, nice! I thought about selling of my meager collection except a Seiko diver or 2 and getting a Speedie to wear all of the time.

GET IT!

Seriously, though...that's a nice watch. If I can't get the Tissot I want, I'm definitely gonna try finding a deal on an Oris.

You know, if there's one watch in this world that I wouldn't badmouth someone for spending two grand on, it's the Omega Speedmaster/Seamaster. Those things aren't like Rolexes (no offense to any Rolex owner, of course), at least not IMO. I think they represent a true watch fanatic's watch.

One day I'll own the silver Seamaster I've always wanted. One day, baby!

Still trying to decide on the titan, or go with the SS version. SS comes with all black, or all blue bezel.

LEO83, you and I both have the same dream watch. I currently own two Seamasters. I can retire in 3+ years and then I will treat myself to a Speedmaster! I want the display back, what about you?

Go rent the movie "Frequency", the main character wears a Speedmaster on a black band.

Sounds like a great retirement gift. I'm at the opposite end of my career, with only 3 years in!

The display back looks great, but I think I'll opt for the traditional back with the Seahorse engraving.

Funny, although I'm not LE, I can retire from state service in less than 4. The Speedie is one of the top choices for my retirement gift to myself too. I'll go for the traditional back myself.

I would definitely go with the SS, as I've had quite a few titanium watches and absolutely HATE the way they scratch so easily. Plus, I like a hefty watch, but that's just me.

What's the lowest you can pick up one of those for?

The only AD in my state is Macy's, and they charge full retail.

There are a few online dealers that have them in the 8-9 hundred dollar range.
