I just finished up with a new holster for the 3" 1911. Here's a couple of pics. <center>

Looks like some very nice craftsmanship... I have the 4" Raptor Pro. I saw your 'guinea pig' thread on the Glocks. Just wondering, have you been primarily working on IWB or also OWB? Do you need any help with 1911's?

So far it's been the Glock 26 and the Springfield XD Compact. I'm a 1911 guy myself (I don't own a glock or XD) so I've been demoing the 1911 holsters myself. I don't have the 1911 gun or the mould for a 4", all of my guns are either fullsize or 3". My dad has a CDP pro carry and he's constantly hounding me to make a holster for him so I'm sure it won't be far off. Do you have any full size or compacts? Thanks for the compliments on the holster.

I recently received this holster for use with a G26/27/33 size Glock. As you may know, I was also testing another holster constructed by fellow GT'er mliebs8.
The holster I am now using has what I consider improvements from the original holster I tried.
1- Mike has used a lighter weight leather that has allowed the holster to feel softer while it is worn. It still has the reinforced mouth, but the body of the holster a little thinner.
2- The straps are now removeable. This will allow you to purchase extra loops in different colors in case you want the straps to belnd with the belt. I don't know if different size loops are being considered, but this would make the holster even more versatile.
3- The cant on this holster is less severe than than the first holster I tested. This has allowed me a little more leeway as to were I place the holster on my belt. The different cant has also corrected a problem I experienced where the 1st holster tended to have a pressure point at the lead edge, using the stiffer leather, pressed into my glute. This was probably just a problem for me based on my build and may not be a problem for others.

I know there are plans to make a 0 cant/straight drop holster for the same size pistol and there may be a G19/23/32 and a G30 size holster in the works.
If the rest of the holsters are on par with the quality of this latest holster, they will be worth the look.

You're very welcome!!! nope, no full size or compacts any more... I'm so tempted to buy another full size 1911. I guess this is the wrong forum for all of that :-)

Thanks for the great feedback and thanks for taking the time to test the holsters out, it's greatly appreciated. The new holsters are featuring Wickett and Craig leather with removable straps which can be changed to any color or length. Gingerkid, I'm still working on the 4" 1911 and I'm sure I'll have it done in the next month or two (or my dad will disown me). When the first prototype is ready I'll send it to you. Thanks again
