Hopefully your M4A3 is NOT in the City of Chicago. You know the state of IL is a communist state when it comes to firearms, more so inside the Windy City.

Fenix-Store started shipping out TK-10s on April 2. Have any of our US-based BoGs gotten theirs yet?

I lived in Waukegan a long time ago. Nakakalito ang gun regulations diyan. Masyadong madali maging accidental felon.

can these fenix lights withstand the pressures of scuba diving down to 120 feet?

^ Dude, if you can afford DSLR accessories, you can afford a TK10. Barring the G2 and G3, the TK10 costs less than half of what most Surefire LED lights cost.

That said, I think I prefer the black to the olive one, especially if I will remove the cigar ring and slap on the orange spacer.

Philpost finally came through and sent me the parcel notice for my TK10b this morning. After I finished assembling it, the first thing I noticed was that the Allen head screws that secured the clip were a weak point of the light. I managed to strip both screws while trying to securely place the clip onto the light. Needless to say, even after stripping the screws, the clip still moved a bit while on the light.

Anyway, here's how the TK10b looks next to my venerable EDC, an incandescent Surefire E2e. I wasn't surprised anymore by the bigger size of the Fenix, because the Lumapower M1 that I got a few months ago when I first tried out LED lights, is exactly the same size as the TK10.

Band of Glockers

Of course, the proof of the TK10's effectiveness is in its ability to light up the night.

This beamshot comparison shows how the E2e and TK10 fare in my backyard. I love the generous amount of sidespill that I get from the TK10, but in all honesty, I doubt that the manufacturer's claim that it can throw a beam 200 meters away is accurate. The farthest portion of my backyard (the dark area left of center) is about 50 meters away from the camera, and the TK10 couldn't light it up.

Band of Glockers

I also removed the cigar ring thingy, as I never hold my lights that way (I don't want to learn another new technique at my age). I replaced it with the orange spacer, and boy, am I glad it looks fine with the black body of the flashlight.

Band of Glockers

One final nit to pick: the "tactical" tailswitch of the TK10 isn't like that of the E2e. it's really a forward clickie with a momentary on function. I felt this was worth noting since, if one is under stress, he might accidentally put the TK10 on "constant on" mode with an audible click instead of "momentary on" if he pushes the switch far enough. Just some food for thought.
