Moving to Port St. Lucie/Stuart area... advice?
Hey everyone, October of last year I posted a similar thread here and on FSN about moving to Miami, and got quite a bit of helpful advice (thanks again Noway). I moved to S. FL for a job, and with a bit of luck, I recently came upon an opportunity to transfer OUT of Miami!
If all goes as planned, I will start working in the Treasure Coast area within the next 3 months. I don't know much about the area, I'm wondering the pros/cons of living in St. Lucie county (Port St. Lucie) vs. Martin County (Stuart/Jensen Beach), or what other nearby cities/neighborhoods are nice.
I'm in my upper mid-20's, single, plan to rent a house... although looking at houses for sale in that area is so damn tempting ("holy crap, another 2 year old 3/2/2 for the price of a 1/1 condo in Miami"). Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I live in Jensen Beach, buying a house right now probably would not be advised. The housing market is pretty variable. For the time being it would probably be smart to rent until you wrapped your finger around the real estate market.

Welcome to PSL. You can get great deals on houses right now but I'm sure they will drop even further.

Thank you for the responses. I'm anxious to own my first home, but at this point, I believe house prices can only stay the same or drop... but I really doubt there'll be an increase any time soon.
It's all good. I have an apt. in Kendall and rent is very low... but I'm ready to hightail it outta Dade County!

Once you get moved in you may want to check out the
Martin County Sportsmes club.
It's the closest range to you.

Did you make the move?
MCSA finally got what they wanted and forced the action pistol clubs off their range. Now the retired grumpy rifle shooters can gather there in the middle of the day, drink coffee, smoke cigarettes, talk about how good they used to be, and fire a round or two down range every hour or so.

Why did MCSA kick off the IPSC shooters ?
They have been shooting there since that range opened.
It's been years since I shot IPSC with those clubs, but they always had a good group of guys , and paid for the use of the range.
Sorry, I don't mean to hijack your thread.
