Guys , any suggestion on how to clear approximately 2ha. land of grass, cogon , talahib ?
Grasscutter would be too expensive ang bilis tumubo ulit ng damo
I'm thinking of a herbicide

Ang alam ko may naghaharvest nyan. Ginagawang materials sa handicraft. They would happily harvest it for you for free baka ikaw pa bayaran nila.

herbicide will work - I just can't remember the name. Please no burning - baka hindi macontrol and it would start a brushfire and spread to other properties. This is happened to me - tamad yung kapit bahay magclearing so he just burned it ehhh lumakas yung hangin at lumipat sa amin.

Ahhhh hindi kakainin ng baka or kambing ang cogon

PERO what will you do after? Kasi kahit anong gamitin mo babalik talaga yan. The best is clear it then plant something kahit mga kakawate or cover crop (mga crawling plants) these are all legumes and would help the soil also. BTW, cogon is a sign of acidic soil so you might want to consider that when you start planting.

I'm subdividing it then selling it , some houses are already being built
A week of rain ,taas ulit ng damo
I'm wondering if herbicide would be cheaper than having the grass/weeds cut every few weeks

try roundup herbicide. available usually sa mga agri stores. spray lang sya tapos medyo abutin naulit 6 months damo bago tumubo ulit kahit tag ulan.

Ahhh ok yup effective yung herbicide and cheaper nga. You would need a sprayer lang and some protective outfit like boots and face mask. You would have to make sure you spray it well sa may root area kaya importante ang boots - pati kuko ng tiga spray patay

I have the same problem in a property that is vacant. I tried clearing it last summer but to no avail kasi mataas na naman ang talahib, dami pang makahiya kaya ayaw tambayan ng mga aso ko. I tried to borrow kambing from friends pero ayaw kainin yung talahib at pumanghi lang. LOL.

Tried out roundup , expriment lang
I was able to spray a hectare w/ one liter, plus 9-10 tanks of water (16li)
Dapat bright and sunny day kaso ang pu@#$% umulan after a few hours
3days nako nandito sa bintana , inaantay malanta yung talahib

the best proven way is cut and burn.

i am not sure but the best herbecide i saw is called "POWER".
Within a few hours after spraying you can very noticeably see the leaves drying down. But you need to do something about the roots cause this will inevitably grow back within a few weeks...

my lolo once told us that sprinkling saltwater on grass will cause it to die once it is absorbed by the roots... but i haven't seen anyone do this so I'm not sure

It's been a week
Mukang may sakit na mga talahib , pero ayaw pa rin mamatatay
I dont know kung mali dosage or dahil umulan 8hrs after

So I tried another herbicide gramaxone, active ingredient is paraquat
Rainproof w/in 15min of drying
Just to be sure sa dosage ( I have a problem comprehending labels ) I called up the head of the institute of crop protection studies for the exact dosage. Naks!
According to their research and studies in the field , it's best to use 1 ligo sardine can of gramaxone for every tank of water
Syet , napaka scientific ng findings nila!
This time sa ibang lote naman. May mutha , weeds, bushes etc
Sprayed it in the morning , umulan nanaman nung hapon
The next day , the plants have all wilted
3rd day , the plants are dead and dried effective!
Problema , there's a whole field of tall dried grass , if some a-hole throws a cigarette may crematorium na rin yung memorial park hehe
Wala din , grasscutter pa rin very dangerous magkasunog
If your going to use paraquat , use during the rainy season

I dont think burning the dried grass would be more effective than pabayaan mo lang siya to decompose sa lupa
The longer mamatay yung grass at nakatayo , muakang mas matagal siya tubuan ulit ng seeds
I'll know w/in a month or 2

Nakaka adik hehe parang lahat ng makita kong lote gusto ko sprayan ng gamot
