OK to Have Ammo Shipped to NJ?
Folks,
If you live in NJ and have a firearms card, is it ok to have ammo shipped to you?
Thanks Alan

Yes you can have it shipped to NJ. You do not need an FID either.

According to the new law passed it is illegal to be in possession or to purchase handgun ammo unless you have a valid pistol purchase permit, an FID card, or a hunter's license. I believe you have to show that too.

Must be legal to sell and ship though. I had two shipments in the last month via UPS.

I was told by sportsman's center on Rt. 130 that it's pistol ammo only. Places like midwayusa.com won't ship pistol ammo to jersey anymore. Rifle and shotgun is still fair game.

Few online dealers want the hassle.
It is less complicated for them just to refuse service to states like California and New Jersey.

I get shipments from ammunitontogo.com with no problem.
Both rifle and pistol ammo. It comes UPS.
sometimes I get from cheaper than dirt and they ship Fed Ex, which they have just left inside my screen door. where UPS requires a signature.
Last order came this past Tue. 7/22

Had no problem getting shotgun and pistol ammo (including 9mm hollowpoint) shipped last month (November, '08) to residential address via UPS, no signature required from ammunitiontogo.com

Bailing on Jersey
I see that ammoman.com has stopped shipping to Jersey all together. This is ridiculous and I feel for anyone living in Jersey. If obama get his way a 500% tax on ammo should make everyone happy.

Got my shipment from Natchezss no problem. You do need an FID to purchase centerfire pistol ammo. Long Rifle and shotgun you are ok. But if you go to some stores, they can be more restrictive and require FID for anything, like Dicks is.
