I have mixed feelings about this. Even though presidential and other politics does get tedious, it gives us a way to find out how the candidates and others running for office feel about our 2nd amendent rights, gun control, hunting, etc.

Most Certainly Yes!
Seeing how Glock Talk fails to look after its own future existence by allowing anti-gunners to run wild in the Political Issues Forum, it is time to DECOMMISSION GTPI.

They are only posted in PI, so just stay out of that forum and you're good to go.

I am new here and voted no. I can't post yet down there, but I don't see anything wrong with spirited discussion.

The problem lies in keeping the posts in the correct forums. Example: look at General Glocking and see how many non-Glock/political/for sale threads there are. These are all over and the mods can't keep up.
I am sick and tired of the political nonsense and don't go to that particular forum. If only they would limit themselves to that arena, all would be well.

I was on another forum for some time. They completely shutdown the political forum and attempted to eliminate all political posts. The mods went crazy as folks posted political topics buried all over the place. Eventually they reopened it since it was a joke to claim 'no political posts will be tolerated.' It was out of control.
I'd hate to be a moderator.

Do not ban the political posts. What we do here is part of our heritage and politically motivated.

I think Carolina Drifter is right, since he/she does not feel this is the place for political conversation, even though he/she can still visit this sight and not visit the political forums, we should stop everyone from having political conversations! That sounds fair to me. The wants and needs of a few should affect the majority!
