I think that 'ominous' is the word we've been looking for. This is more and more reminiscent of the Glock high cap mag fiasco with each day that passes.
Pity, I really wanted some of these sights.
If they can't make the product then they are unlikely to be able to prosecute a patent infringement case. Any takers ?

I sent SureSight an email today asking for update...I'll post the results.

According to this thread they were still on target for early August as recently as Jul 14 !
http://www.xdtalk.com/forums/suresig...ly-august.html
Wonder what went wrong. I hope this works out because I'd like to get some, though I don't intend to order until I know they are shipping.

I sent a money request through paypal to info@suresight.com asking for a refund and stated the reasons as being no replies to numerous emails/phone calls. I'll let you guys know what happens.

Well it would seem that the last post on GT by Leibster was a response to this thread on Aug 11 (see below).
It seems that he has not been posting on other Forums recently either. If he is the only guy doing things for the company it may just be that he is ill or has had an accident, hence the total silence.
Or it could be that someone (supplier ?) ripped him off and he's lost the customers money.
Hopefully it will all work out, but some kind of statement from the company would be a relief to those who've invested money in the project by advance ordering sights.
(P.S. - the SureSight ad is still here on GT, perhaps the Forum management could find out what is going on)

I just wanted to let everyone know that we do indeed intend to begin shipping sights this week. As mentioned in my quoted emails above, it may take several weeks for all orders to ship out.
We are all caught up on our backlog of emails, and both emails and phone calls will be returned much more quickly now.

Geez! Thanks for the 'upbeat' message QF, we needed that!

Yeah, now I'm pissed.
If you do a seach here, you'll see that I've been the one sticking up for Leibster and his product. But now it's 09/03/08 and there's been NO updates, returned emails, or phone calls. If he's sick (I had heard that in the past he has dealt with some illness), he should have someone communicating for him.
No excuse for this. I hate to do it, but I'll be requesting a refund today.

Five-o, good luck on the refund request. 2 days and still not a word, much less any money in my PP account. Please let us know if you do get your money back.

Same here. I know I'll get my sights and expect to be happy with them. I will continue to stick up for the great product but he'll have to defend his reputation himself.

I'm done with this Company. No updates even after weeks of inquiries. I requested a refund 2-days ago. This is no way to treat and keep Customers.

To be fair to Leibster, these recent avents do seem to be out of character. For years he has diligently kept customers informed on several Forums - suddenly we have silence everywhere he frequented.
This makes me think that the most likely option is that he is ill (or dead). Are their any members who live in LA and perhaps could check the obituaries, and go around to the business and see what's happening ?

Thank you to those who flagged this post to me. Eric has been forwarded the information.
As this purchase was/is not affiliated with Glocktalk in anyway, I am guessing that repeatedly pushing the MOD/ADMIN button may not produce the results you seek.
Like you, I am hopeful for all involved that this is a simple manufacturing delay.

After seeing this thread and someone considering that Leibster may have died I decided to reach out to Leibster today. I spoke with him briefly (he gave me his cell # a couple of years ago) and today is his first day back to work. I did not pry but I know he had health issues.
He told me they had some delays in manufacturing (not sure what the delay was) and that he would be in touch with his clients by Monday. I'm not sure if he plans to post here or to email the folks in his database, but he assured me he'd be in touch very soon.
AmeriGlo and SureSight are not partners (no working relationships). Although I compete against Leibster (and other sight companies) we get along pretty well with most of the other people in the sight business. All in all everyone I know in the sight business (Trijicon, Meprolight, XS, Champion HiViz, TruGlo, etc) is friendly when we see each other at shows.
Leibster stopped by my SHOT Show booth a few times over the years - that's how I know him. He assured me the recent delay was no scam and that he intends to get in touch with his customer base to clear up the problems. I know nothing else (delivery dates, new products, etc) except that his health is now OK and he will be in touch soon.

I'm glad to hear he's still alive and not in Switzerland. I hope he's doing o.k. and gets his orders shipped out.

I received this email today.
We have issued you a refund for your order. It may take a few days for your credit card company to process and reflect in the statement. I apologize for the lack of communication, and hope that once we have our product in stock that you’ll consider purchasing again.

Thanks for the update Rick! This gives those that have ordered and not canceled, some hope we'll get the sights we ordered.
I'll be looking forward to hearing from 'Leibster,' in whatever form he chooses to do it!
