BCR supplement source?

Hey, what's that webiste that you said had good prices? Thanks.

Perhaps that can be a FAQ. Opinions from the ALOTF?

Also, Carlson's (http://www.carlsonlabs.com/) seems to be a good source of fish oil. Perhaps this can be a FAQ also.

I'm all for adding this stuff to the FAQ.

BTW, I just bought some fish oil caps from Sam's Club. I need to compare the prices with the link you provided.

Also I bought more multis, 400 ct. I have a new milestone. Have those gone befreo Thanksgiving '09.

Make sure those are somehow filtered or distilled to get rid of impurities and verified by an independent lab.

Also, I think it's a great idea to break one open fairly often to check for rancidity. THis is a big advantage of the liquid--you'll know it if the liquid is rancid.

I know it claims to have the mercury filtered out, don't know about the independent lab however.

I get everything from www.dpsnutrition.com

Good prices, tons of stuff, and VERY reasonable shipping. Shipping is usually $5-$6, even for heavy stuff like 3 jugs of whey.

LOL, the basic idea is that fish oil can/might/maybe/probably comes from sources that have PCBs, mercury, and ohter nasties. Very high quality fish oil companies use molecular filtration or distillation to git rid of this stuff. Get cheapo fish oil and yer taking your chances.

Aside from that, fish oil goes rancid VERY easily because of the type of fatty acids that are in it. First off, it should be refrigerated in an air-tight opaque container whether it's in pill form or liquid. Even then, it supposedly can go rancid pretty easily. With the pills, one has no way to know if it's rancid without breaking one open and tasting it. It should taste very mildly fishy and not bad at all. If it's rancid, it will supposedly be very obvious. With the liquids, it's obvious immediately whether it's rancid.

That's about all I know.

+1 ... I've been getting the Ultra Omega-3 by Now Foods, but I don't know anything about their filtration process. 500mg EPA/250mg DHA in EACH pill. You need 2-3 pills with most other brands.

Have you guys checked out the liquids? I think the cost per mg n-3 is a lot better with them. The one I take is:
http://www.carlsonlabs.com/product_d...2&categid=03a9

Its mg of DHA and EPA are at:
http://www.carlsonlabs.com/supplemen...p?ecf8a742.gif

They recommend "1 or 2" teaspoons per day. I generally take 3 tsp per day for 2400mg EPA and 1500mg DHA plus 900mg "other" n-3. That would take a lot of pills!! I also like the liquids because I know that it hasn't gone rancid.
