OT: McCain's Vice Pres...The Gov of Alaska
What do you guys think of a woman as VP?
Being a conservative Republican, I'm still digesting the news and
to be honest, a little concern, what with the ongoing global conflicts and other
troubles everywhere.
Reading her bio, one item struck me as unusual for a young hockey mom and a Gov at that...She is lifetime member of the NRA!. Now, its starting to get interesting!

It doesn't matter to me if Sen. McCain chose a female for a VP. As long as she's God-fearing and capable of doing the work of a VP (and protect the rights of gun owners), I'm okay with it.
It's a slap on the face to the democrats if she gets chosen. A lot of democrats expected Hillary to be their party's VP, but Obama chose another.
It's getting to be interesting.

I just saw her at CNN. One clip shows her shooting a rifle with the Alaskan National Guard. The Dems are hitting her inexperience with foreign policy.

she got the looks alright. and yes, i also saw that clip, she wearing a yellow t-shirt and letting off a rather long burst from a tricked out M-16.
Not a seasoned politician just yet but I'm willing to give her a chance to highlight her credentials.

Wow she is a fulltime mom with a new child thats dx with Down's SYndrome. Being as VP can be very stressful together with her responsibility as VP. Thats a tough balance esp USA is facing the new Cold War with Russia.

this is the family minus the 5th with the DS. Pro-life, she really is.
I'm beginning to warm up to her with the mounting of infos about her exploit starting as a mayor of a small town all the way to the gov job. Mukhang astig din siya.

She has an 80% approval rating in her state, which is very reassuring. The husband is a commercial fisherman, and they are a middle class family. They could reach out with the middle-class to the less fortunate Americans. One son is in the Army and is scheduled to be deployed to Iraq.
I hope the people won't underestimate her and see her qualities as something that could help America back on its feet.

McCain's over 70 years old, and has a high chance, later in his term, may he to entrust 10,000 nukes to this middle aged mom...
How confident could we now be with her finger on the switch, with Russia at war, Iraq in shambles, terrorism unchecked, oil vanishing, and the economy a mess?
American citizens have a very big decision to make come November... I just hope they make the right one.

Duh! The US president can't just order to pull the nuclear trigger. The approval also has to come from the Congress and the military.
What difference does it make if she's a woman? The most important thing is that she is qualified for the job, that's why she was selected to be McCain's running mate. The selection process for a running mate isn't made with a blink of an eye.

I too like the choice, but the media has little or no respect for a Real Woman.
They'll tear her apart at the seams in the name of cultural diversity, progressivism and the environment. It's only a matter of time before they start dropping the hints of "how safe are her children around a woman who enjoys killing innocent creatures".
I pray she is up to the task.

I've seen it happen to very good people, and to some who were not so good.
A teenage daughter getting pregnant? That can happen to almost anyone.
Too easy to judge others when you don't have kids. The whole world is
an ocean of sensual stimulation you CAN'T totally isolate your kids from,
nor should, and there's only so much a parent can do.
IMO, the pregnancy has almost zero bearing on qualification for office.
Almost:
It only has bearing when a candidate USES it as an issue,
dragging another candidate's children into the political mudslinging.
Any candidate that does that has shown themselves unfit for public office.
IMO.

She didn't have an abortion and decided to keep the baby. That's what I'm proud of her.
Read the news today that the family will UNCONDITIONALLY support the pregnant daughter.
That killed the issue.
