Finally a Sir Knight
Received my Orders Friday night the 30th and Saturday the 31st.
Now a member of Worth Commandery #19, Fort Worth, TX
The work was fantastic, the setting perfect (if you are in Ft. Worth you really need to see the Asylum). The brothers worked very hard to make the expereince a memorable one.

Congratulations...
It was an amazing group of Brothers that put mine on as well.
I go through Ft. Worth a few times per year. Would like to see it someday.

Congrats.
I found the Order of the Temple to be quite enjoyable.

I'm but an Entered Apprentice, still unversed in the names/titles of the varied degrees, levels, etc.
Would anyone explain what this particular one is?
Congratulations to you nevertheless, Sir. You ought to be proud.

The Masonic Temple in Ft Worth.
The Temple is located at the corner of Henderson and Lancaster in Downtown Fort Worth. It was built in 1932 and is the home to 3 or 4 Masonic Lodges, Worth Commandery, Fort Worth Scottish Rite, and Moslah Shrine Temple. The Asylum is on the 4th floor of the Temple and is used for meetings and degree work. Words cannot describe it, you just have to see it. I first saw the Temple in 1965. We had the Texas state DeMolay conclave there. I was the Master Councilor of our DeMolay chapter in Dumas, Texas. I moved to the Metroplex in 1972 and joined the Masonic Lodge in 1975. I joined Ft Worth Scottish Rite in 1983.

In Masonry there's two Rites, Scottish Rite and York Rite.
Order Of The Temple is the top degree in York Rite. It's also one of the only "open" degrees that just about require a belief in Christianity as you pledge to draw your sword in the defense of the Christian religion.

Thanks everyone. It is truly one of the best "degrees" in Masonry. Very impressive.

One must profess a belief and faith in Jesus for admittance. None except a Christian can, in good faith, receive the Order of the Temple.

Yep That's why I worded my post that way.
It's not a constitutional requirement, but who would take that degree and not be a Christian? Heck, in Ohio every Sir Knight has at least 3 crosses on his uniform not counting his sword.

Actually I will installed on Jun 30 as ES in Chapter and IPC in Council. On July 8th will be installed as SD in the Blue Lodge and will assume leadership of the EA degree team.
If any of you are in the DFW area, you are welcome to both. Chapter and Council will be at 6:30 at the Masonic Temple on Henderson in Fort Worth. Blue Lodge will be July 8th at 6 and 7 same location.
we also have a new website for the chapter and council. It is still being fleshed out with information, but do take a look (I am also the webmaster). I will leave off the www for obvious reasons, so the rest of it texaschapterandcouncil (dot) org.
I hope some of you will visit the website and that some will be able to attend either installation.

Excellent! Welcome to the order. I have been active in the York Rite in the past, sadly it is dying out in the rurla parts of Georgia.
There is many hours of labor and pleasure before you in the York Rite.
