I'm at the southern end of IL as well (Centralia).

It would seem that Cook county decides laws for the rest of the state.
Southern IL life is much different than Chicago.

On a larger scale would be like California deciding laws for the rest of the country.

You guys seem to forget, Crook Co. has enough voters (legal, live or otherwise!) to out vote the rest of the state, all they have to do is mobolize them. This time, unfortunately for the rest of us, they did.
But in some instances, street rumor has it that a vote could cost up to a carton of cigarettes ! But with the obscene amount of money the Dems had avaliable this time, it didn't matter.
There should be an investigation into the EXACT source of a LOT of this cash that was avaliable....how much came from "outside sources"?

Oh, I didn't forget. When that clown Obama first had his name on the ballot for senator, I had never heard of him, later I found out he didn't campaign outside Chicago.
The joke will be on him though (unfortunately us too) He is going to have to finally make a stand, after voting "present" his whole career. Let the voter remorse begin.

Hey fellas!

I'm a new Glock owner in IL and am very interested in getting started with competitive shooting and maybe even a little 3-gun if I can find someplace to shoot all three.

I'm about 20 miles north of Chicago and about 20 miles from WI.

I'm about 45 minutes from McHenry...or twenty-two hours if driving it yesterday.

Not bad, we've got a couple of ChiTown cops that are members of our club, also a couple of guys from WI.

There's only 1 public indoor range in McHenry Co. & that's where we shoot.
PM me & I'll get you up to date on upcoming matches.

Illinois is two states: Cook County and the rest of us (O'Fallon Guy here). I would love to secede from Illinois and form a new state that follows the entire U.S. Constitution.

There was a grassroots movement to create the 51st state (S. Illinois) but I can't find a link to them anymore.......there was a thing on tv about it several years ago.
I wouldn't doubt if everybody south of I-80 would be willing to go with us, which would be fine. The only problem we have are those counties right around Cook.

Actually, the proposed seperate state (Forgotonia) was composed of southern & far western counties.

I'm unfortunately in a collar county.

But with all that's going on with Gov. Blago, MAYBE the Feds will be able to tie in the Teflon Mayor.
If we get rid of BOTH of them, we might have a chance at some decent reps in state gov't.

Or we could hope for a massive quake & drop ChiTown into the lake ?(the kalifornia solution)

The corrupt weasels in Chicago didn't count on the extra media spotlight on their shady operations. Sure be a shame for all their efforts to go for naught.

I wonder if they brought the charges too soon on purpose?

I talked to (Rep)Jack Franks over Christmas. He's our local rep.
He said they're holding back on the impeachment thing so Fitzgerald & the Feds can get everything they need to hang Blago !
We're a Republican area, Jack's a Democrat, but he keeps getting re-elected because he doesn't BS his people ! Good guy & honest with the voters.

Going to J.R. Shooting Sports in Aurora tomorrow at lunch to blow through some ammo.

That is sure what crossed my suspicious mind when Fitzgerald made that one particular statement. It sounded very much like they wanted to end it because it might take a turn that they didn't want to deal with.
