Pasco County Sheriffs Race

Just got off the phone with Kim Bogart, a career LEO who is running against the aging sheriff incumbent, Bob White. Seems Bob has become a bit too political and is forgetting he serves the people.

While Kim is running as a Democrat, he is not left of political center. I asked him his views on licensed concealed carry for protection and he supports it. He told me about various members of his family who carry.

I like his get tough on drugs, gangs, and crime platform. The current sheriff won't even admit we have gangs in Pasco County. I

'm not a pull the R lever kind of guy, but was a bit uneasy supporting a D so I contacted him for some one on one. I'm impressed.

Thoughts?

If you're happy with what he had to say, and feel he was being sincere and not just telling you what you wanted to hear, vote for the man.

Being a Democrat down here doesn't necessarily equal being a Liberal moonbat. A Southern Democrat is a different animal. I was one myself until the second Klinton term. My folks were Dems until about the same time.

The most important thing is, of course, that you vote.

Thanks. I've read about Southern Bluedog Democrats. They supported Reagan. This guy seems to have a LOT of LEO experience in various positions in the state, plus he is a long term Pasco resident. We'll see how it works out.

Sadly Bogart lost. I did some volunteering for his campaign and am friends with some people very close to him. Seemed like a great guy. Ive heard Bob White will not sign off on class 3 though Im not sure where Bogart stood.

While Bogart is for citizen CCW, he was very much opposed to "hunting with assault weapons" and is for reinstating the AWB. I'm sure he is not keen on Class 3.

Sorry to hear it, fellas.

Our Sheriff isn't too keen on signing for Class 3 either. Luckily, the SA doesn't have a problem with it.
