I see the picture was already shown here, but the thread title didnt give much information for everyone. Listed below is some information and the 4th gen picture.
To me, the finger groves look less pronounced.
From someone at the LE convention in San Diego, CA- Hey all you Glock fans and maybe even some of you that aren't Glock fans... Glock is coming out with a 4th Generation frame! New for this frame is the noticeably different grip which will have a nice bite to it (skateboard tape fans will no longer want or need skateboard tape) and really nice serrations on the rear of the slide. Something about the frame feels more like the first generation and I felt it was easier to grip up high on the backstrap. They will be starting out with both the Glock 22 and Glock 17 and will eventually have all the Glocks out in this design.
Minor changes if you ask me. They should have worked on making the grip smaller since that seems to be the #1 complaint about Glocks. SF them all. You know, we do have the technology.... Oh, and the grip on the slide, WTF???
Nice changes, cosmetic, but definitely a sharp looking gun, and I already liked the look of the Glock. I would take old school look or new school look.

agreed! where the hell are the single stack 9's/40's and 10mm's/45's???

Glock produces a really wonderful series of pistols. The problem is that they really haven't changed or moved forward since they were first put on the market. While I don't blame them for sticking with a winning design, I think that if they are ever going to improve significantly, someone's going to have to jerk them up short and force them to improve. This would require all of us to sort of slow down what we buy and from whom we buy it.
I've been seeing this for the last day or two, and i really want to like it. But, i don't. i love my bulky grip, and finger grooves. It fits me and my proportions just fine. I really dont think the new slide serrations are appealing in any way.
I'll probably buy the first one i come across, though, as long as its a compact (whenever those hit the shop).
I will say good job, Glock. I feel like they listened and applied a little bit of what they heard on "improvement".

I just saw that on a different forum. Lot's criticism, I think it's ok. I'm interesting to test the new side grip, don't care about the new serration though.
So is it official the 4th gen or is like Short Frame(SF), the new Texture Frame(TF)?
+1 on reduce the grip size, make it slimmer not just shorter.

It's simple, It's rugged, and It goes bang every time you squeeze the trigger! What more would you expect from a gun?
As far as the 4th Gen. uhhh - NO. Especially not the serrations on the slide.

There are tons of pistols on the market that are simple, rugged, and go bang when you squeeze the trigger. What glock is lacking is a grip designed to fit the human hand and depending on who you ask, some style.
I think the 4th generation should have been a 1911 style angled grip formed to fit more comfortably into the human hand.

This leaves much to be desired...
Change the Glock grip angle? are you crazy? I think they would lose more loyal followers than gain. Maybe an OPTION would be alright, but not change it all together.
been saying it for months and months. practically every other company offers some type of grip customizing device, be it interchangeable side/front/back straps or whatever
in terms of plastic pistola, the one size fits all approach is horse and buggy vs. model t
If they were smart they would offer a frame with interchangable grip frontstraps/ backstraps to regain some of the market share they have lost, especially from the law enforcement area. Many police departments are switching to M&P and a big reason is because of the ability to fit in every officers hands better. One of the main things anyone tells somebody about which gun is best for them is if it feels right in their hand. Glocks feel great to me but others not so much so they really abandoned a large crowd of people by not getting with the times and technology.
I think the new design looks terrible, and is a lazy attempt at trying to gain customers. The 4th gen is not one I will buy, I will have to stick with 2nd and 3rd gens. The best thing I liked about the look of all glocks was the the serrations on the slide and those new ones don't cut it. I expected much more from the next design.
I can get past the serrations on the slide, but I don't understand why GI insists on keeping the freakin' finger-grooves? People can always add a Hogue grip if they want FG's!
If they'd offer an SF frame w/o FG's, I'd buy lots of them, even with the fish-gills on the slide.
