Filipino hostages by Somali pirates
Does the Phil Navy have ships big enough to sale that far and rescue our fellow pinoys in trouble ? Or we only have inland water capable ships? Dont we have the capability to mount a rescue , we have the SEALs and other spec op forces, diba ?

AFAIK, Blackwater already has a contract for securing and patrolling the waters around Gulf of Aden. Some vessels have blackwater contractors on board as security. And most of the contractors are Filipinos. Don't ask me how I know. But my source is very reliable.
Makes sense IMHO, since we have many Filipinos who are sailors and have combat experience.

They should make a cruise ship and advertise to gun nuts like us -the spiel - take a luxury liner and bag yourselves a couple of pirates. You can choose from our ordnance of .50 rifles, TOWS, RPG and other fine weaponry :D

Unfortunately no, we do not have the capability to mount an operation that far, but our people are capable of doing it, we just don't have the equipment.

Actually, that was a fantasy of ours, to make it more exciting, do it on a luxury yacht.
