I had my gavel made

Well I will be installed as Worshipful Master of my Lodge on December 19.

I know a guy with a machine shop and we got to talking about my need for a gavel.

This is what he came up with...

I am going to look into having the square and compass engraved on both sides of the head and the bottom of the handle

Check out the picture and let me know what you think.

It weighs in at a whopping 4 pounds!

The head is solid brass and the handle is rolled steel

Be careful you don't shatter the ashlar.tom.

I hear ya, Brother!

I need to get another sounding block made. I thnk it would shatter the ashler that we have.

Maybe a nice piece of oak.

Can't wait to use it for a third degree!!!!!

LOL.I was thinking more along the lines of a foot long piece of street car track.I can hear it ringing over here already.LOL.tom.
