Need a little help from the Tech gods.

Last night an error message popped up and Norton 360 shut down and I got a screen full of pop ups.
Now Norton will not start, my charter email will not work(can't connect to the server) and I could not transfer a file using Yahoo IM.

Here is what I have tried...
Windows defender has removed something called Vundo (SP).
Downloaded Spybot, but when I try and run the exe it says it can't connect to the server.
ComboFix shows in the log file that Norton has been disabled.
HiJack this log file showed a couple nasties, I ran the fix and nothing.

I also went to Symantec's site and ran the online system virus checker and it came back clean.

Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

Norton has always been reliable for me, I know some of you will suggest there's something better, perhaps now I will look into it.

Restart in safe mode (f8 during bootup) and try running another virus scan and any other cleanser programs that you might have. And I would dump Norton like a hot potato, and go with AVG, Avast, Avira, or Kaspersky etc... If you want to be really safe, run killdisk, format, reinstall Windows and go from there.
