I feel for the guy, must have been a terrible ordeal.
I have made two observations from your post. One, isn't handguns illeagle in B.C. and the other "is that what socialized medicine gets you, no hospital beds?";Q

well our towns population is just over 10K people.... as such we only have basic trauma care and just an xray machine but no MRI, edmonton has all of those.

I have been through your area many times, it is one of my favorite places. I saw the largest Black Bear I have ever seen around Watson Lake(another favorite)a few years back.
