I need help with FireFox portable

I need help with FireFox portable (runs on a thumb drive).

I changed some settings and suddenly GlockTalk no longer remembers me. So I have to log in every visit even though I have the "Remember me" box checked on the GlockTalk front page when I log in.

I tried to get back to where it remembers me, but it does not. I have set "Remember passwords" to "On" in FireFox. It must have to do with security or privacy settings.

Anybody know what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks.

check to make sure you haven't set it to eliminate all online traces at closing. Sounds more like you need to allow cookies and lighten firefox's security settings, or add glocktalk to your trusted sights list.

I got it. Thanks.

I had set FireFox to clear cookies and delete privacy data upon closing. After reading your posts, I changed those back to "never", but GlockTalk still did not remember my ID and password.

Then I noticed a small banner at the top of the screen when I logged into GlockTalk that said, "Do you want FireFox to remember this password?"

I said "yes" and now I am logged in when I get to GlockTalk.

Nice! It's amazing how much stuff you can screw up quickly and how long it can take you to recover.

PS: One would think that telling FireFox once would be sufficient and the question would never come up again. That's like Windows Explorer asking if you want to replace a file and "Yes to all" is an option. But "all" does not mean "all" to Windows. It asks you again at each file.

Thanks again.

The thing is, 99% of websites are designed for MSIE usage, and sometimes with other branded browsers, you lose a few things, it's obvious now that the builders of this site included firefox in the code, it shows a lot about the builders that they considered other browsers.

I have both Firefox and Opera on all my USB thumb drives.
