Strictly performance

Accuracy.
Durability.
Reliability.
What's the best, and the second best 1911 in these areas of performance?
Thank you.

Impossible to answer, as there are so many outstanding models.

A price range would help us narrow it down somewhat.

My sloppy-loose Colt has been as reliable as a gun can be through about 2K round now. It's not much in the accuracy dept though.

My opinion, since you're asking about basic working pistols are:

Low end ( Around $1000) - Springfield MC Operator, the TRP could be tossed in here, but for a little more, the Baer is the better pistol.

Higher end ($1600-1800) - Les Baer TRS/CC or Springfield Custom Carry.

Performance

Yes, beer is very good.

Not to change the subject, my new 1911 it should be:

Reliable enough to carry for defense.

Accurate enough to shoot competitively out to 25 yards.

Durable enough to carry daily, be shot 1000 rounds monthly, last a long time, and maintain it's accuracy and reliability for the same long time.

Price range up to 2500.
Cosmetics unimportant. My work of art will be the bullet's POI.

A Baer SRP with the 1.5" guarantee should fit your needs well, but will be slightly over the price with the accuracy option.

The standard SRP's guarantee is 2.5" at 50 yards, so its still great.

What makes the SRP, in your experience, better than a CQB, or a GRP?

Tighter lockup, better guarantee, and more accurate, in my experience.

I like Baers quite a bit.
